It’s no doubt that the past two years brought countless challenges to so many individuals and organizations. In an effort to provide the focusIT family with an outlet to help others, the management team enacted quarterly giving that began in 2021 and continues today.

Each quarter, a different focusIT team gets together to decide their chosen charity. It’s a fun and lively gathering as each team member presents his or her case for a selected charity and then the team votes on which one they want to support that quarter. Not only does a charity benefit from this quarterly activity but our teams get to know a bit more about each other and what causes mean a great deal to their teammates. Definitely a win-win for team building and giving back!

Our first donation was selected by our sales team. The team chose Child’s Play, “a game industry charity dedicated to improving the lives of children with toys and games in a network of over 185 hospitals worldwide.” Child’s Play was selected as the organization enables children to have access to different technologies and games during some very challenging times in their lives. The team selected two Child’s Play Amazon wish lists so they could directly donate specific items that the children requested. As a tech company, this first charity seemed especially fitting!

focusIT’s next charity donation was to the World Wildlife Fund, “the world’s leading conservation organization” that works in nearly 100 countries to “develop and deliver innovative solutions that protect communities, wildlife, and the places in which they live.” focusIT’s customer success team selected this charity. Other casino games along with all the standard brick ‘n mortar casino table games – albeit not in tournament kind – embody many 3-reel and 5-reel hit-slots up to fifty paylines, over fifteen video poker games, and several specialty games akin to European Slot Poker, Bonus Bingo, Keno and Scratch Cards. Navy.

Our third donation, selected by focusIT’s development team, was to the Wounded Warrior Project. The Wounded Warrior Project supports “Veterans and service members who incurred a physical or mental injury, illness, or wound while serving in the military.” What our clients may not know is that some of our development team members were either in the military or have worked on military contracts. The WWP has helped many of their friends or family members so the team felt a strong pull to support this charity.

focustIT’s most recent charity was selected by the management team. As summer is just around the corner, Wonderland Camp was a timely choice. The camp, located in Rocky Mount, Missouri, provides a fun, inclusive, and safe camp experience for children, teenagers, and adults who have disabilities. It also offers a respite from daily caregiving for their family members and caregivers and it provides and nurtures a personal development experience for volunteers and staff. The camp was created by Charles Miller in 1969 and today, the camp hosts over 1,000 campers each summer!

In the words of Gary Braman, focusIT’s Senior Technical Consultant, “I chose this as my charity because nothing pulls at my heart-strings more than to see the joy of nature shine through a smile on a kid’s face at Wonderland Camp.” Click this link to get a little tug on your own heart-strings:  https://campphotos.zenfolio.com/

We hope reading about these organizations brings a smile to your face and encourages you to consider choosing a charity of your own to support if you (or your company) don’t already. Stay tuned to read which charity focusIT selects next quarter!
